ONE YEAR ENDS ON A WIN AND THE NEW YEAR BEGINS WITH A WIN
Bantam LL2 Junior Sailors have a busy end to 2012 and start the new year on the right foot.

Since our last article the team has played Aylmer 1, a great game that ended in a tie.  The tie was due to a PK puck dump by TC from our high slot onto the Aylmers net minder who was too busy checking out the end of his stick as the puck went directly into the net.  Nice one.  The team then played back to back games against Dorchester 2.  The first game took place in our barn where the Sailors came out with a 4-2 win.  The next night we met again in Dorchester.  Once again the sailors came out on top with a 4-1 victory.  2 days later we met the Rock in St Mary's.  The game was a hard hitting battle that ended with a 4-2 victory for the Sailors.  We are looking forward to meeting the Rock again in Port on Sat Jan 12 for a much anticipated rematch.

The team had a short break for Christmas and geared back up for the John Henry 40th Annual Memorial Tournament.  Our first game was against Mount Brydges.  We last met Mount Brydges at the Ingersoll Tournament where the sailors came out with a 3-2 victory followed by a bit of a bench clearing, penalties and suspensions.  This time Mount Brydges dominated the game and took the win with a score of 3-0.  This put the Sailors on the consolation side.  The team then played came alive and displayed some excellent hockey skills against both Strathroy White and Blue to leave the tournament with a gold medal and a trophy.  Nice way to end the year.  Good Work Team!!

The Sailors then kicked off 2013 with a game against Aylmer Flames 2.  Aylmer opened up the scoring early in the first.  The sailors then buckled down and ended the game with a 3-1 victory to start the new off on the right foot.

With 4 regular season games remaining and a tournament in Dresden, we are anxious to see what the play downs will bring.  Keep up the good work.

GO SAILORS GO!!!!!!!
