Regular Season Ends
The regular season has ended for Bantam LL2 on a high note.
The regular season has ended with the team winning 2 games and losing 2 games of the last 4 regular season games. This left the team sitting at 700 this year, a noble accomplishment for your efforts, excellent work team.
We ended the season by participating in the Kinsmen Cup in Dresden. The team played spectacular and had a number of achievments. Our first game was against New Hamburg, the team won with a score of 1-0. This was a well matched opponent but the Sailors played an excellent first game. Logan had his first shut-out of the year and the team had there first penalty free game. Nice work. Our second game seen us paired up against Point Edward. After losing to the Point in the A Final Championship last year, the team was both excited and nervous for the upcoming game. Once again, the Sailors used there team work and came out on top with a score of 3-1. This brought us to game 3. Our opponent was Oak Ridges who won there first 2 game 5-0 against Embro and 4-0 against Aylmer. What a game, both players and goalies were hot throughout. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. We then went to 4 on 4 overtime which ended with no score. The teams then went to a shoot out. Both teams had 4 shots without scoring, the goalies were spectacular. On the 5th shot, Oak Ridges managed to put one past Logan to win the game and move on. Despit this loss, the Sailors played excellent hockey throughout. Logan made numerous big saves and kept the team in all games.
The play off scheduling meeting is coming up on Tues and after the teams performance on the weekend, I can't wait to see who we play in the first round. GO SAILORS GO!!!!!!
