Atom Shamrock, Atom, 2013-2014 (Port Stanley Minor Hockey)

On a frigid night more suitable for sitting at home in front of a fire the Sailors made the quick journey to Mount Brydges to face the Cougers.  The cold temperatures would not slow the Sailors as they came out flying and took it to the Cougers for most of the first period and held strong against their counter attacks.  With no scoring the Sailors would enter the second frame with a spring in their step and the belief that they could play with this top team in the Shamrock standings!

The Port Stanley atom rep team competed in the Alvinston Silver Stick over the holiday break and showed their resilience to advance to the quarter finals against the power house team from Parkhill. The road to this game was a bumpy one with an opening game loss to Alvinston that the coaches players and parents would all rather forget.  After the sloppy play in the opening game the Sailors rebounded with a strong showing against Delhi in game 2.  After two periods of play the Sailors led the Rockets 2-1 on strong performances by Hunter R. in net, Evan R., Jake P., Tyson B., and Nick K. ...

In the much anticipated rematch between the Sailors and the Bruins after their wild shootout in Blenheim the Sailors came out flying as they have in the last three games scoring early in the game to set the tone for the evening.  Jake P converted on a pass from Ryan H and Tyson B in front of the net; after being denied on his first attempt he deftly tucked the rebound passed the goalie not giving up on the play.  Following that early marker the rest of the period saw back and forth action with Hunter R holding his own and closing the door on the Bruins to keep the Sailors up by 1 after 1 ...

The Atom Sailors were up to their old tricks tonight in their battle with the Lambeth Lancers.  Once again the sailors opened the scoring in the game as Tyson B continued to put his magic stick to good use as he buried a hard shot high over the goalies' glove!!  In the defensive end Hunter R was a master in the net as he tracked down shot after shot and kept the Sailors in the game allowing only one goal in a period where he faced a barrage of shots as the Lancers controlled much of the play. The first period ended with the score tied and the Sailors hoping to muster more offense as the ...

The Atom Sailors made the journey to the sleepy town of West Lorne on Sunday afternoon to take on the Comets and feast on the culinary delights of the province's best Arena food!  The sailors came out swinging with and impressive end to end rush by Evan G as he danced around the Comet defenders and tucked the puck past the goalie on the shorty side with a nifty shot!  The Comets quickly answered with a blistering shot on their set cherry pick play that continued to confound the Sailors D all game long.  After the Comets netted their second a short while later the Sailors tied it up when Tyson ...
