Sailors Fall To Hardworking Bombers Squad
It was a long and tiring evening for the Atom Sailors as they endured wave after wave of unrelenting pressure from the Belmont Bombers attack! After an even first period which saw the Sailors down 1-0 the Bombers reeled off three quick goals each one immediately following a good scoring chance that Port Stanley just couldn't capitalize on.
The goaltending tandem of Hunter R. and Jackson W. stood strong in the net making many good saves as they faced a barrage of shots and Jackson showed us his best Ronaldo impression making a nice save with his head. The defensive corps had their hands full tonight with Sully H and Stephen H teaming up to try and contain the Bombers powerhouse 1st line and the twin towers Evan G and Nick K working hard in our own end under constant pressure.
While there were many good moments to this game it is clear the sailors need to improve on their focus and consistency and compete for three full periods. So its back to the drawing board for the Sailors as they prepare to meet East Lambton next week.
