The novice rep team moved ahead in their Shamrock series against Thamesford.  After the 6-1 victory, Port now has 2 wins and one loss.  Goal scorers included Mason Cummings, Josh Reiger, Nolan Stevens, and Caleb Todd with one goal apiece.  Logan David added a pair of markers.  Assists went to Jack Eitel, Logan David, Parker Vaughan, Caleb Todd, Ryan Ward, Ella Russell, and Andrew Monteith.  After making several key saves, Weston Locke came within 18 seconds of achieving the shutout.  The team made a concerted effort to limit Thamesford's goal scoring chances.  Breakaways killed the team in an earlier matchup with Thamesford so everyone worked together to make sure that those opportunities didn't materialize.  Keep up the good work!!!

After losing the first game of the OMHA West semi-final series 4-0, the Port Stanley Jr. Sailors played much better in the second contest.  Their response was a 5-2 win over the West Lorne Comets.  The Sailors hustled right from the first drop of the puck.  They got the first goal and then played with confidence.  Andrew Monteith scored twice on power plays.  Parker Vaughan added two more markers.  Josh Reiger chipped in with the clinching goal.  Mason Cummings and Vaughan each had two assists.  Monteith, Caleb Todd, and Nolan Stevens each had one assist.  The entire team stepped-up their efforts.  Hard work really paid-off.

The novice rep team played with only 8 skaters in their final game vs. Southwest.  The boys did a great job of helping each other out, and limited to the Bullets to very few shots on net.  Weston Locke stayed focused throughout and recorded the shutout.  The Sailors scored two with a rocket from Josh Reiger and a strong drive to the net from Parker Vaughan.  It was a great team effort.  Port Stanley won this series 6 points to 2 and now move on to play West Lorne in the semi-finals for the OMHA west championship.
