Silver Stick Success for Port Stanley
This past weekend both our Novice Rep and Bantam LL1 teams competed in the International Silver Stick Finals in Pelham, Ontario.

Our mighty Novice Rep team had a great record during the round robin with wins over Campbellford Colts, Penetang Flames and a 6-6 tie with Lambeth Lancers. They followed up with dominating wins during the quarter finals vs. Blyth Brussels Crusaders and semi finals vs. Muskrat Voyaguers. The championship game was a tough battle against the Lambeth Lancers that started out with the Sailors behind by 3 goals but they worked their way back to a 4-4 tie at the end of the third. Overtime only lasted 30 seconds before Port Stanley scored the winning goal for a Championship win of 5-4 over Lambeth. What a great game!

The Bantam LL1 team had a rough start to the tournament with close round robin losses to Barrie Colts and Apsley and a 1-1 tie with Embro Edge. They entered the quarter finals at the bottom of Pool B, having to play the winner of Pool A, the Strathroy Rockets. The Bantams played hard for a 5-3 win to advance to the semi finals. They once again faced off vs. Apsley but dominated most of the game to win and move on to the championship finals. Riding on the high of the watching the Novice Rep's big win, the Bantam team fought hard but lost 3-1 to a strong Embro team.

We are extremely proud of both teams!
