In Remembrance of Matt Moyes
Everyone within the Port Stanley Minor Hockey Association knew Matt Moyes. His dedication and commitment to the organization included 14 years as a Board Member, 12 years as President and numerous years of coaching a variety of different teams. He also donated his time as head trainer. His love for the game and joy of coaching kids will live on through the hearts of Port Stanley hockey players for generations to come.

Obituary for Matthew Alan Moyes...


MOYES – Matthew Alan `Matt` of St. Thomas. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Matt on Monday, September 3, 2018, at the age of 54 years. Matt was born in St. Thomas on January 4, 1964 and simply loved his community. Beloved husband and best friend of Nancy (Crow) Moyes and dearly loved father of Melissa Crow-Soucek (Jerry), Brian, Ethan and Kaylynn Moyes. Cherished son of Elaine (Barrett) Moyes and the late Richard Moyes. Dear brother of Sherri Moyes and her sons Christian and Carter. Dear son-in-law of Beatrice Crow (late Richard). Matt will be sadly missed by a number of brothers- and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was a Foster Parent for 20 years, was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. Matt was a mechanic and owner of M&M Auto and lived by the motto ``trust me, I`m your mechanic``. He was the Trainer for the St. Thomas Stars, as well as a coach, trainer and Board member for the Port Stanley Minor Hockey Association. He was also the past president of the St. Thomas Ball Hockey League and taught Auto Mechanics at Fanshawe College. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, September 6th from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, September 7th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Visitation and Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 8th at 11 am. Cremation to follow. Remembrances may be made to the Port Stanley Minor Hockey Association or the St. Thomas Foster Parents Association.
