Welcome!
Players, Families, and Friends of Port Stanley Minor Hockey,

I hope you’ve all had a great summer. I would like to officially welcome you to the 2024-2025 hockey season! As your new President, I am honored to lead our association into a year filled with growth, teamwork and fun. I look forward to all that this season has in store for us. To the returning players and families, welcome back! To the new players and families, we’re so glad you’ve joined our hockey family.

My goal this season is to create a safe and fun environment for all athletes.  Along with working hard learning and developing skills, this is also a time to build life-long friendships through teamwork, mutual respect, and fun. As in all sports, there will be highs and lows with valuable life lessons to be learned in both. Remember, each time you step on the ice you are representing Port Stanley Minor Hockey and that is something to be proud of! I have no doubt that you will represent us well.

I want to gratefully acknowledge our past President, Richard Lalonde, for his years of dedication and the countless hours spent as a valued member of the Port Stanley Minor Hockey board. I look forward to continuing to build on all that he has accomplished.

I would like to thank our board of directors, which has grown significantly this year. This dedicated group of individuals have been busy working behind the scenes on many plans to ensure a successful upcoming season. Regardless of any challenges that may lie ahead, I am confident that with a strong team we can face anything.

Thank you to our dedicated coaches and all bench staff for your time and commitment to your teams, the team managers who keep everyone organized, and all parent volunteers who step up to help make sure things run smoothly. Your efforts are invaluable and great appreciated.

Thank you to our generous sponsors who help make it possible for a small town hockey club to do what we love most. We are so grateful.

Thank you to The Crew (formerly known as The Hockey Mom’s) for coming together to support our hockey community. We can't wait to see all you have in store.

Lastly, a big thank you to the arena staff for all that you do; we appreciate you.

In closing, I wish you all a great season. Work hard, have fun and enjoy the journey.

GO SAILORS!

Sincerely,

Terry Taylor
President,
Port Stanley Minor Hockey Association

Mike has played and coached against top hockey nations throughout Europe and has absorbed and developed many teaching techniques that he shares with all athletes he works with. As a coach an instructor Mike believes in detail and technique. He believes the old theory of 10,000 repetitions to master a skill can be drastically reduced through delivering a detailed progression based plan and providing the right information to the athlete. This higher level of detail helps the athlete to absorb the information with more focus.
