I am very pleased to be welcoming you to a very unique minor hockey season.  You may not know but, we are one of the first associations in our area to fully reopen, and as a result you may have felt that many of our updates over the last month have been very last minute.  Quite frankly they have been.  However, I am proud of the quality of the program we will be offering our families and the safety protocols that will be in place. 

 

Our early opening is a testament to the quality of my fellow board members.  I would like to express my thanks for their work over the last several weeks with a special shout out to our Registrar, Candice Wakulich. 

 

U8 and older, will have 3 ice times for the next couple of weeks and we will be firming up our skills sessions with Ellis Hockey Development within that timeframe. 

As you will note from the Return to Play tab on our main website, there are some key actions required prior to your 1stice. 

 

Review the return to play audio file;

Review, print and bring with you the Central Elgin Screening Waiver (this will be required for every entry and will be used if contact tracing is required)

Make arrangements for registration payments, once a player steps on the ice we need to pay insurance for them, so please do so before your 1stice. 

Payment plans and financial assistance can both be arranged through our Treasurer Jean Devine.  Please do not let money be the reason your child does not play this season.  She can be contacted at[email protected].  That is also the address to send e-transfers. 

 

I am also happy to report that we will be starting our U7 and U5 programs right away rather than waiting until our traditional October start.  If you haven’t signed up yet, don’t worry, we have left plenty of capacity at these ages, so players can join after their friends at school share their fun stories.

PSMHA Hockey Moms
Hockey Moms are looking for new members!!! If you are a Mom, Dad, Grandma, step Mom, or someone interested in helping out all of the kids of PSMHA, consider joining the Hockey Moms! We meet once a month and help out with events such as Hockey Day in Canada, providing food at tournaments and raise money by cleaning out the beer shed at Foodland. In the past, we've provided teams with funds for team building events, helmet stickers and meals on Hockey Day in Canada. We will be running a few exciting and new fundraisers this year!!! Parent reps will receive monthly updates at board meetings and we will pass on info about upcoming events on the website and Facebook page. Dodge Caravan Kids
The Dodge Caravan Kids program is a joint effort between participating minor hockey associations and Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram retailers. It provides up to $500 in funding and access to exclusive hockey benefits to novice-level hockey teams across Canada. The goal of Dodge Caravan Kids is to help enrich the game of hockey for participating coaches, players and their families, and represents one of FCA Canada's key community efforts.
