Never Giving Up
Victories are not always in the win colulmn. Saturday's game against a bigger, more skilled E. Lambton Eagles team was one of those wins. A great lesson to our players.

We are roughly half way through the season. Although we know where we sit in the standings and we know our record, we are just beginning to know ourselves as a team.

Saturday was the first game since our 6-1 win over SW that we played aggressive on the puck for the entire game. Every player contributed. Every player did their job. The result was possession and chances. The most important lesson was that being down 3-0 means very little if you play every shift like you have a chance.

Carter sparked the comeback by taking Rieger's rebound and flipping it over the netminder. Will broke his scoring drought on an exciting penalty shot. Andrew then tied it with 7 minutes to go, showing tremendous drive to the net and patience as he pulled the loose puck from the goalie, dragged it and hit the back of the mesh. We had chances to tie it again in the last minute with Wes on the bench.

Dax was player of the game because he owned the boards. He played one of the best positional games of the season. The game Puck was hard to give to just one player. Monday is the last skills session and we are starting to see the impact on the kids' puck-handling and skating.

Next step is to watch the World Junior Tournament. While you are watching, look at the players' positioning. Take note of how important it is to take away the opponents time and space.
