Sailors Tie Blenheim in Remarkable Comeback
Port Stanley Atom Sailors put on quite a show and had their fans reaching for their blood pressure medication with this back and forth dual. The first two periods saw the two well matched teams trade blows and the lead ending things off tied at 4. The sailors looked to be out of gas as the Bruins crept away and built up a three goal lead with 3 minutes left to play.
After a highlight reel individual effort by Hunter G the coaching staff boldly pulled the goalie with two minutes remaining still trailing by two. After a few stressful moments trapped in their own zone the sailors managed to bury the puck twice before the final buzzer. With the game tied and the goalie back in the net the sailors almost made the comeback complete with two glorious chances by Brady L only to be robbed by the Bruins goalie.
The sailors showed great resolve today and moved the puck like a well oiled machine with Evan R and Robert S making pass after pass to create chances and goals! Jake P took home the hard hat for his hatty but it was a complete team effort that got the sailors a well deserved point. Keep it going boys!
